Apply for a Timeslot on Public Access

Application for channel time is open to any community member who submits a request. Programs are scheduled on a non-discriminatory basis. Channel time is granted in the following order of priority:

1. In-house access producers are Comcast certified producers who use Comcast facilities to produce, shoot or edit their programs. (For more information on becoming a Comcast certified producer, click here.)

2. Out-of-house certified access producers are Comcast certified producers who do not use equipment or facilities provided by Comcast, but still live within Comcast's service area.

3. Out-of-house producers are producers who do not reside in Comcast's service area, are not certified by Comcast, and do not use Comcast facilities or equipment but do submit programs for playback.

Generally, programs are assigned one timeslot a week. Series programming can be switched out weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.

If you cannot produce programming on a regular basis, then you should apply for a "special" timeslot. This will get your program aired once a week for 4 weeks.

Timeslot availability varies by location. Fill out the application form and send it to the address at the bottom of the form. DO NOT SEND TAPES AT THIS TIME. You will be contacted when a timeslot becomes available for you.

When you've secured a timeslot on one of our access channels, you can then begin dropping off tapes. Tape formats vary by location. It is the producers responsibility to submit their tapes on an accepted format. We will not dub tapes for you. Check our Channel pages to find the accepted formats.

All tapes should be clearly labeled with the following information on the spine of the tape case and on the tape itself:

1. Title of Program
2. Cablecast Dates
3. Producer's Name and Phone Number
4. Length of Program

It is the responsibility of the producer to drop off tapes and pick them up in a timely manner upon completion of airing. We will not mail tapes back to you. Contact your specific public access center for more details about tape drop off procedures.
